Our 5-Step Roofing Process

At Proof Construction, we take every roofing project seriously to ensure your new roof is beautiful, watertight, and built to protect your home or business for years to come.

#01. Pre-Checklist Evaluation

Our process begins with a detailed pre-check inspection. A representative will assess critical areas including roof decking, chimneys, wall connections, and site logistics to identify any concerns before work begins.

#03. Photo Documentation

We take “Before” photos of your gutters, siding, personal property, and exterior HVAC and water heater vent pipes. This protects you and provides documentation for insurance carriers, including code compliance and completion photos.

#04. Magnet Raking and Yard Cleanup

After installation:

  • The yard and flower beds are magnet-raked to collect nails or fasteners.

  • As an added precaution, we return the following day to perform a second full magnet sweep and quality check of the property.

#02. Tarping and Property Protection

We create a complete cover-up plan:

  • Tarps are laid around the full perimeter to protect landscaping, bushes, and A/C units.

  • Items near the work area are moved or covered.

  • Special safety precautions are taken for children, pets, and overall site security.

#03. Roof Repairs & Installation

Poof Construction can professionally repair or install most roofs in just one day.

  • Please move all vehicles from the garage and driveway by 7:00 AM on installation day.

  • We will back our dump trailer close to the home for safe, direct debris removal.

#05. Final Inspection, Photos, and Invoicing

We perform a final walkthrough and take completion photos of all contract or claim items, including:

  • Gutters, paint, sheetrock, screens, garage doors, metal panels, fencing, staining, HVAC combing, siding, and windows.

Our office then invoices your insurance or mortgage company with all necessary documentation, including code upgrade evidence and project completion letters.

We install and repair asphalt shingles, metal roofing, flat roofs, and more—customized for your home and budget.

Residential low slope roofing system

Flat Roof & Low Slope Roofing

Homes with flat or low-slope roofs (3/12 pitch or lower) require specially engineered systems that standard shingles can’t handle. At Proof Construction, we specialize in all three proven flat and low slope roofing systems:

  • Base & Cap Systems
Our Base & Cap systems outperform rolled roofing by offering multiple protective layers. Ideal for slopes between 3/12 and 1/12, these triple-layer systems deliver superior durability and leak resistance.

  • TPO Membranes
TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) is a highly durable, UV-resistant, and energy-efficient membrane. It comes in reflective white and gray options and can be glue-down or mechanically attached with screws and washers. TPO resists punctures, dirt buildup, and bacterial growth—perfect for long-term performance.

  • Elastomeric Coatings
Applied as a liquid, elastomeric coatings cure into flexible, weatherproof membranes—ideal for metal and flat roof surfaces. These systems are long-lasting, adaptable to extreme conditions, and include special materials to seal screws and seams.

Our crews are trained specialists in all 3 systems. We’ll help you evaluate the pros and cons and recommend the best option for your home.

Metal roofing system

Metal Roofing Systems

Metal roofing isn’t just durable—it’s stylish and low-maintenance too. We install a variety of residential, commercial, and agricultural metal systems, sourced from Metal Panels Inc., a trusted supplier since 2001.

  • Panel Types: A.G. Panel, R Panel, and Standing Seam

  • Fastening Methods: Exposed or hidden fasteners

  • Color Options: Wide range of finishes to match your home or structure

Benefits of metal roofing include:

  • Extreme durability (wind resistance up to 140 mph)

  • Resistance to corrosion, cracking, and impacts

  • Minimal maintenance compared to traditional materials

Our experienced installers have been recognized for their craftsmanship, with several projects featured in MPI’s 2024 calendar. From custom trims and underlayments to superior fastening systems, Proof Construction delivers metal roofing done right.

Woodshake roofing system
Residential woodshake roof

Wood Shake Roofing

Wood shake roofing has a classic, natural appeal—but replacing it requires planning, care, and precision. Because shakes are typically installed on spaced battens, most replacements also require new decking—and that can get messy.

That’s where our Proof Exterior & Landscape Protection Solution comes in:

  • Plywood covers for A/C units, garage doors, and vulnerable windows

  • Perimeter tarps to protect landscaping and catch debris

  • Full attic and storage area protection with interior tarps

  • Magnet sweep of yard and driveway for staples and nails (twice)

  • Post-install vent checks (HVAC, water heater, and dryer) to ensure proper seals

We treat every project with respect for your home and property—because premium roofing deserves premium care.

Hail damaged shingles

Impact-Resistant Shingles

Impact-resistant asphalt roofing shingles are specially-engineered products designed to withstand the impact of hail, which can damage a shingle and lead to leaks. While all shingles offer some level of impact resistance, only the most durable are marketed and sold as impact-resistant shingles.

Proof Construction offers only the best shingles in class 3 & class 4:

  • Malarkey Vista (class 3)
  • Malarkey Legacy (class 4)
  • CertainTeed Climate Flex (class 4)

  • Class 3 – Sample did not crack when hit twice in the same spot by a steel ball 1.75 inches in diameter
  • Class 4 – Sample did not crack when hit twice in the same spot by a steel ball 2.0 inches in diameter

Pros:

  • Longer Lifespan – Designed to withstand hail, wind, and debris, impact-resistant shingles often outlast standard shingles.

  • Fewer Replacements – You may not need a new roof when others in your area do after a storm.

  • Insurance Discounts – Some carriers offer premium discounts for homes with Class 4 impact-resistant shingles.

Cons:

  • Higher Upfront Cost – These shingles typically cost more than standard options.

  • Aesthetic Damage Exclusions – If hail doesn’t physically break the shingles but causes visible blemishes, insurance may not cover a full replacement—even if the roof looks damaged.

  • Claim Denials in Certain Storms – Smaller hail may not meet the threshold for replacement under some policies, even if the roof is visibly affected.
